In the Ancient Roman world, Proserpine (or Proserpina), was the Maiden goddess of agricultural death and rebirth. She is equivalent to the Ancient Greek goddess Kore / Persephone, and was the spouse to the Roman god of the underworld, Dis Pater.

These Proserpine mugs, are siblings to the Idiyanale vessels and covered in a blue floral toile to represent the goddess’s role in the life cycle of flora. They are brush-glazed by hand and every cup holds approximately 15 fl. oz.
